What is FaxBurner?
An online fax service for sending and receiving faxes from your iPhone, iPad, email or browser, with no fax machine or phone line. It launched in 2010.

Is FaxBurner legit and safe to use?
Yes. FaxBurner has served more than 1.9 million users since 2010 and holds a 4.8-star rating on the App Store. Your faxes go through FaxBurner’s servers to your app and email, not a shared office machine.
Is there a FaxBurner Android app?
No. The app is iPhone and iPad only. On Android, fax from Gmail, Outlook or any email app with email to fax.
Does FaxBurner work on iPad?
Yes. Your account and fax history sync across devices.
Free Plan and Pricing
Is FaxBurner free?
Yes. The free plan needs no credit card and doesn’t expire.
What's included in the free plan?
5 pages to send in total, 25 pages received per month, a temporary fax number that lasts 24 hours, plus email to fax and fax to email.
How much do paid plans cost?
Professional is $14.95 a month, with a permanent toll-free fax number and 500 pages in and out per month. Premier is $24.95 a month, with 2,000 pages in and out per month.
Is there a free trial?
The free plan isn’t a trial. Use it as long as you like and upgrade only if you need more pages or a permanent number.
What happens if I cancel my plan?
Your number may become temporary again, and your limits return to the free plan’s.

How do I get a fax number?
Create a free account in the app or at faxburner.com and tap Reserve a Fax Number. It works within seconds. See how receiving works.
How long does a free fax number last?
24 hours. Request a new one anytime, or upgrade to keep one permanently.
Can I keep my fax number permanently?
Yes, on a paid plan. It stays yours as long as your account is active.
Can I bring my existing fax number?
Yes. You can port an existing fax number to FaxBurner.
Sending Faxes
How do I send a fax?
In the app, tap Compose, attach a file or snap a photo, enter the fax number and send. From email, send your document to send@faxburner.com with the fax number as the subject line. How email to fax works.
What file types can I fax?
PDF gives the best quality. JPG, PNG and other common formats work too.
How do I know my fax was delivered?
You get a confirmation by email and push notification. If it fails, from a busy line or a wrong number, you’re told why so you can resend.
How long does a fax take to send?
Most arrive within a few minutes. A one to five page document usually takes under five minutes.
Do I need a cover sheet?
No, it’s optional. Need one? Use our free fax cover sheet templates.
Can I send an international fax?
No. FaxBurner doesn’t support international faxing.
Receiving Faxes
Can I receive faxes to my email?
Yes. Every fax sent to your number is forwarded to the email on your account as a PDF.
Can someone fax me from a regular fax machine?
Yes. Your FaxBurner number works like any fax number, and nothing changes for the sender.
What format do received faxes come in?
PDF, ready to view, print, sign or forward.
Security and Privacy
Is FaxBurner secure?
Faxes are sent through FaxBurner’s servers and delivered straight to your app and email, with no shared fax machine where others could see your documents.
Is FaxBurner HIPAA compliant?
No, not at this time.
